ADJ is pleased to announce the launch of the new WMX1 Mk3, the latest evolution of its acclaimed standalone DMX lighting controller. Building on the proven workflow and powerful WOLFMIX engine of its predecessor, the WMX1 Mk3 introduces a refined industrial design, an improved button mechanism, modern USB-C connectivity, and a precision-molded enclosure designed to integrate seamlessly with the upcoming WING expansion controller.
Designed for users who want professional creative control without the complexity of a traditional lighting console, the WMX1 Mk3 operates completely standalone, eliminating the need for a computer during setup or performance. With support for virtually any DMX fixture and access to more than 15,000 fixture profiles, it provides a flexible control solution for lighting systems featuring products from multiple manufacturers.
The WMX1 Mk3 retains the intuitive WOLFMIX workflow that made the platform popular with mobile entertainers, venues, production professionals, and lighting enthusiasts, while refining the physical interface for an even more satisfying live operating experience.

Refined for Live Performance
At the heart of the WMX1 Mk3 is a brand-new button mechanism, engineered to provide improved responsiveness and a more satisfying tactile experience during live operation. Combined with rotary controls and a 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen, the controller provides direct, hands-on access to lighting parameters, effects, presets, and performance controls.
The controller’s enclosure has also been redesigned with a cleaner, more streamlined appearance. Its precision-molded housing is specifically designed to sit flush against the upcoming WING expansion controller – which will introduce motorized faders, establishing the physical foundation for an expandable WOLFMIX control ecosystem.
Connectivity has also been modernized, with USB-C replacing the previous USB-B connection, providing a current-generation interface while maintaining the WMX1’s compact and practical design.
Powered by WOLFMIX 2.0
The WMX1 Mk3 comes equipped with the latest WOLFMIX 2.0 ‘Double Trouble’ firmware, delivering a significant expansion of the platform’s creative capabilities. This firmware is also available as an upgrade for existing WMX1 controllers.
As its name suggests, WOLFMIX 2.0 dramatically expands many of the platform’s core functions. Preset capacity has doubled from 100 to 200 slots, live edits have increased from 40 to 80, and the number of projects that can be stored has increased from six to 100 (depending on project size and available memory).
Static elements such as colors, positions, and GOBOs now offer 20 slots instead of 10, with a new Expand Mode providing quick access to the complete palette. Static positions have also been enhanced to allow individual offset positions for each moving head, providing greater flexibility when creating and recalling looks.
The updated platform also supports two simultaneous effects across each category — Color, Move, and Beam — opening up further possibilities for creating layered and dynamic lighting looks. This can be taken even further with a new feature called ‘Clusters’, which allows elements of complex fixtures to be split off and controlled as independent fixtures within the control system. For example, the pixel ring of ADJ’s Vizi Pix Z19 or the strobe strip of the Jolt Series of bars and panels can be controlled independently of the rest of the fixtures’ output.

Enhanced Music Synchronization and Color Control
WOLFMIX 2.0 also introduces new tools for synchronizing lighting effects with music. Users can now manually set BPM with greater precision directly from the HOME screen, while the new JOG function allows the beat to be nudged live for accurate synchronization. A new MUSIC BREAK option can also freeze all FX when an external BPM signal stops.
Color control has received an update too, with the Color Picker now offering expanded RGB+ control and support for LIME alongside RGB and other additional color sources. CMY and HUE modes provide further flexibility for mixing colors beyond traditional RGBWAU configurations.
Professional Control Without the Complexity
The WMX1 Mk3 provides control of up to four DMX universes and 2,048 channels (two universes as standard with two more available as optional upgrades). Its fixture library provides access to more than 15,000 fixture profiles, allowing lighting products from different manufacturers to be combined and controlled from a single intuitive platform.
Three dedicated Color, Move, and Beam FX engines make it simple to transform static lighting rigs into dynamic shows. Effects can be customized using parameters including speed, phase, sequence, size, fade, fan, and flicker, while multiple synchronization options allow lighting to respond to the energy of a performance.
The controller can manage up to 680 fixtures, with fixtures organized into groups for fast and intuitive live control. Users can save and recall lighting looks using the expanded 200 preset slots, trigger timed looks, manage fixtures, test DMX channels, align GOBOs, and automatically recover active projects.
With its compact form factor and standalone operation, the WMX1 Mk3 is equally at home in mobile entertainment setups, nightclubs, bars, houses of worship, live music venues, event production environments, and smaller touring productions.
“The WMX1 has established itself as a powerful and accessible way to take professional control of a lighting rig without the need for a computer or the complexity of a traditional console,” comments Alfred Gonzales, ADJ’s Director of Sales. “The WMX1 Mk3 builds on everything users already love about the platform while refining the experience for what comes next. The new button mechanism, streamlined enclosure, USB-C connectivity, and WING-ready design make the hardware feel more modern, while WOLFMIX 2.0 brings significant new creative possibilities to the platform.”

The WMX1 Mk3 represents the next refinement of an established and successful lighting control platform, combining the familiar WOLFMIX workflow with thoughtful hardware improvements and an expanded feature set.
The ADJ WMX1 MK3 powered by WOLFMIX is shipping now from ADJ USA (it will not be available from ADJ Europe).
