ADJ is pleased to announce the new WMX WING, a dedicated control expansion for the popular ADJ WMX1 series of lighting controllers powered by WOLFMIX. Designed to provide lighting professionals with a larger, more hands-on control surface without sacrificing the intuitive workflow and standalone operation of WOLFMIX, the WMX WING adds motorized faders, OLED displays, an expanded button matrix and direct access to essential lighting functions.
Compatible with all generations of the ADJ WMX1 (WMX1, WMX1 Mk2 and new WMX1 Mk3), the WMX WING connects with a WMX1 controller to create a single integrated lighting control system. Projects automatically synchronize between the two devices, while the WING intelligently expands the controls available for the current WMX1 operating mode. With eight fixture groups immediately accessible across the control surface, operators can dim, flash, solo, select and manipulate effects with less menu navigation and greater tactile control.
At the heart of the WMX WING are eight motorized, touch-sensitive faders that automatically follow parameter values as functions and pages change. Individual illuminated lightguides and OLED displays provide clear visual feedback, while the capacitive touch fader caps give operators an additional layer of physical interaction.
An 8 x 5 RGB button matrix puts fixture groups and frequently used functions within immediate reach, complemented by eight dedicated group selection buttons, four rotary encoders, dedicated paging controls and physical OK/GO and CANCEL buttons. Together, these controls provide a larger creative workspace for programming and operating lighting systems in live environments.
“The WMX WING takes the intuitive WOLFMIX workflow and gives lighting professionals a much larger physical control surface to work with,” comments Alfred Gonzales, ADJ’s Sales Director. “The combination of motorized faders, dedicated group controls and an expanded button matrix gives operators immediate access to the functions they use most, whether they’re programming a show, making adjustments during a performance or triggering cues live. It’s a powerful way to expand the capabilities of the WMX1 while keeping the simplicity that makes WOLFMIX so accessible.”

Powerful Cue List Playback
The WMX WING provides extensive tools for creating and operating structured lighting sequences for concerts, theatrical productions, performances and other programmed shows. Each cue can combine up to five compatible presets controlling different fixture attributes, allowing color, movement, beam effects and other elements to be changed together.
Operators can assign individual fade and hold times, manually advance cues using the dedicated OK/GO button, automate cue progression or synchronize playback using MIDI Time Code. The system supports up to 5,000 cues, with up to 1,000 cues per cue list and up to 100 cue lists.
Direct Fixture Control
For situations where direct access to individual fixtures is required, CONTROL mode places fixtures across the WMX WING matrix for immediate selection. The motorized faders can then provide direct control over parameters including dimmer, color, pan, tilt, zoom, iris, focus, GOBO rotation and prism rotation. Up to 680 fixtures can be selected and managed, with selection tools including All, None, Evens, Group, Subgroup and Invert.

Customize the Control Surface
Every production has its own workflow, and MAPPING mode allows the WMX WING to be configured around the functions that matter most to each operator. Four assignable pages of matrix buttons and motorized faders can be customized for frequently used WOLFMIX functions, including dimmers, presets, effects and cue lists.
More Precise Group Control
The WMX WING also provides greater flexibility for managing complex lighting systems. Each of the eight fixture groups can be divided into up to eight subgroups, allowing specific portions of a lighting system to be selected and controlled independently. This makes it possible to divide lighting setups into different sections or control different elements of a multifunction fixture independently.
Expands Every WOLFMIX Mode
The WMX WING is designed to extend the existing WOLFMIX workflow rather than replace it. In COLOR FX, MOVE FX and BEAM FX modes, relevant effect parameters are automatically assigned to the motorized faders. In COLOR, POSITION and GOBO modes, fixture groups appear across the matrix while dimmer control remains available on the faders. When editing color or position parameters, the faders automatically change to provide access to the controls required for the selected task, helping operators maintain a fast and intuitive workflow.

Expandable DMX Control
Featuring four physical DMX outputs – two 3-pin and two 5-pin XLR connectors – the WMX WING allows expansion of a WMX1 system up to eight DMX universes. The physical sockets may be freely assigned to any available universe, and the WING delivers two additional universes as standard, with a further two available through software upgrade.
Compact by Design
Despite its extensive physical control surface, the WMX WING has been designed with a compact footprint suitable for both mobile and installed applications. Measuring approximately 8.7 x 11.4 x 2.25 inches (220 x 290 x 57 mm) and weighing just 3.4 lb. (1.54 kg), it can be integrated into production desks, venue control positions and portable lighting systems without requiring the footprint of a traditional lighting console. The unit also features a 100 mm VESA mounting pattern, providing additional installation flexibility.
With its combination of motorized tactile control, comprehensive playback functionality, customizable layouts and seamless integration with the WMX1 platform, the ADJ WMX WING provides lighting professionals with a powerful new way to interact with WOLFMIX.
The ADJ WMX WING is designed for lighting designers, production professionals, theaters, houses of worship, schools, venues, DJs and live-event operators looking to expand the physical control capabilities of the ADJ WMX1, WMX1 Mk2 or WMX1 Mk3. The WMX WING is shipping now from ADJ USA (it will not be available from ADJ Europe).
