ADJ is preparing to showcase a variety of entertainment lighting fixtures, LED video solutions, and atmospheric effect generators at the IAAPA Expo (Booth #475), a must-attend event for professionals from the attractions industry. The company’s booth will feature a variety of products suitable for the attractions industry, including both regular and IP65-rated automated luminaires, static lighting solutions, LED video panels and even a high-output professional snow machine!
IAAPA is the Global Association for the Attractions Industry and it’s annual Expo attracts thousands of visitors from across the United States and around the world. Hosted in Orlando, FL – the undisputed theme park capital of the world – the event attracts professionals from the full gamut of attraction-based businesses, including amusement and theme parks, hotels and resorts, water parks, family entertainment centers, museums and science centers, zoos and aquariums, and cruise lines. The show floor features everything from rollercoaster manufacturers to food and beverage suppliers, making it a one-stop shop destination for owners, managers, and designers of themed attractions. This is a growth market for ADJ; many attractions around the world currently utilize ADJ lighting, video, and atmospheric effects equipment for everything from illuminating stage show productions to adding immersive effects to rides and themed areas. However, as ADJ’s range of products suitable for this market continues to expand, there are many opportunities for further growth in the sector, which makes exhibiting at the IAAPA Expo an obvious choice for the ADJ sales team.
Taking pride of place on ADJ’s IAAPA 2023 booth will be the FOCUS SPOT 7Z, a feature-packed moving head lighting fixture launched earlier this year. Powered by a potent 420-Watt white light LED engine, which has a native color temperature of 8000K, the unit’s high-quality optics ensure a crisp and even output of up to 20,000 Lumens. Loaded with beam-shaping tools, this versatile automated luminaire provides lighting and attraction designers with almost unlimited creative potential. Its feature set begins with CMY color mixing, which allows for a vast selection of colors to match any mood or look. There is also a variable CTO flag, which can be used to select any color temperature of white light output from 2,700K to 8,000K, and a separate 7-slot (plus open) dichroic color wheel. Two independent indexed-rotating replaceable GOBO wheels, each with seven slots plus open, allow for a choice of 14 different patterns. The fixture also features an indexed rotating animation wheel, which can be used to generate engaging and complex moving projections. The unit’s extensive feature set also includes motorized zoom, focus and iris; two rotating prisms and two frost filters.
For outdoor applications, the HYDRO SPOT 2 will also be on display. Part of ADJ’s extensive Hydro Series of IP65-rated ‘weatherproof’ automated luminaires, this potent spot fixture incorporates an efficient 320-Watt cool white LED engine, focused through precision-engineered optics, to deliver a crisp and punchy output. From animation wheel, twin GOBO wheels (one rotating, one static) and two rotating prism options (6-facet circular and 5-facet linear), to CMY color mixing with variable CTO flag and an additional color wheel, it offers all the tools a creative designer could wish for. This combination of power and features is drawn together in an extremely rugged fixture that is both compact and lightweight for its class.
Another outdoor-ready, IP65-rated fixture set to be showcased at IAAPA is the recently released ENCORE LP12Z IP. Offering the ultimate utility lighting fixture, this unit sets a new benchmark for LED par can versatility. It offers huge brightness with lime-infused LEDs, motorized zoom for easy remote-controlled beam angle changes between 5 and 30-degrees (9 to 50-degree field angle), a robust casing that can be used anywhere, an inbuilt wireless DMX transceiver for ultimate flexibly, and a heavy-duty scissor yoke that can be used either as a hanging bracket or floor stand. It is powered by twelve potent 20-Watt quad color RGBL LEDs, which deliver a combined output of up to 4400 lumens. 16-bit precision dimming control of the red, green, blue and lime LED chips allow for the creation of a huge gamut of output colors, while easy selection of popular options is facilitated via 64 preset macros. The fixture can also be used to output white light with color temperature variable between 2700K and 6500K. All these features, wrapped up in one keenly priced luminaire, make it ideal for illuminating both permanent attractions and temporary productions.
Also on display will be ADJ’s ENCORE PROFILE PRO COLOR, a professional ellipsoidal fixture powered by a 250W RGBWAL LED engine with a CRI > 90. Through independent dimming control of the red, green, blue, white, amber and lime LED elements, this fixture can be used to generate a huge gamut of colors ranging from vibrant primaries to subtle hues. It can also generate color-corrected white light, with a macro function providing easy selection of a range of different color temperatures. This robust and reliable fixture features a 4-blade manual framing shutter system, manual focus, and a B-size GOBO slot. It can be used with ADJ’s range of interchangeable lens tubes, however it has an industry-standard design and can therefore also be used with any existing ellipsoidal lenses and accessories that a venue, theme park or entertainment center may already own. In addition to lighting fixtures, ADJ also offers a range of LED video panel options.
At IAAPA 2023, the VS3IP will be showcased, an IP-rated panel which features a 150 x 150 matrix of 3-in-1 SMD1921 LEDs, delivering a pixel pitch of 3.84mm (0.15”) for a pixel density of 67,816 per square meter. It delivers an impressive maximum brightness of 4500 NITS with a contrast ratio of 5000:1, making it suitable for use outdoors, even during daylight hours. An impressive viewing angle of 160° horizontal and 140° vertical (@ 3m / 9.75 ft.) can be further enhanced when required using the optional angling feature. It allows the panels to be joined together at either a concave or convex angle of 3 or 6 degrees.
Finally, ADJ’s product catalog also includes a variety of atmospheric effect generators, and at IAAPA visitors will have the opportunity to witness the ENTOUR SNOW in action. This professional caliber snow generator uses water-based fluid to create a snow-like foam, which is then blown outwards in a cascade of snowflake-style droplets. It is both powerful and featured-packed, making it suitable for a wide variety of applications, including permanent installation within attractions and temporary seasonal productions. The 1250W machine features a large 5.6 Liter fluid tank and variable output, with a maximum throw distance of 12 meters horizontally. The unit can be mounted using its variable angle bracket, stood directly on a surface for horizontal snow output, or placed on its side and used to project snow vertically upwards to a distance of up to 10 meters. Used in this way, a very natural falling snow effect can be created. The machine can be controlled either via DMX – with a choice of 1, 3 or 5 channel modes as well as both 3-pin and 5-pin DMX connections – or using the on-board LCD display. This offers both manual operation and a comprehensive timer function. The unit also features a ¼ jack socket for use with the optional ENTOUR VT-1 wired remote control (sold separately).
The 2023 IAAPA Expo will take place at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL from Tuesday November 14 thru Friday November 17.
