Heads Up!American DJ's XP-3 Intelligent Moving HeadOffers X-tra Performance At Affordable Price
LOS ANGELES -- Now, the average club and established professional DJ can move up to the excitement of moving head lighting effects, thanks to the new intelligent XP-3 from American DJ. The XP-3 is a high performance DMX-compatible fixture with a fully rotating head -- and an incredibly affordable price tag that will make the user's head spin as well!
Unlike a traditional intelligent light in which only the mirror moves, the XP-3s moving head can cover every inch of a room, even up to the ceiling, in spectacular lighting effects. This type of 3-D-like light show has become the rage at the top world-class nightclubs everywhere, and now, with the XP-3, smaller venues can offer their patrons this cutting-edge visual excitement.
"In the past, moving head fixtures were beyond the price range of the average club and professional DJ," said Scott Davies, General Manager of American DJ. "The XP-3 offers those who have a smaller budget the excitement of a moving head fixture, without a high price tag."
Priced at only $699.95 suggested retail, the XP-3 features a fully rotating head, with pan and tilt. It includes 4 DMX channels and is loaded with many extra performance features, such as smooth stepper motors and an easy-to-read digital display.
Along with its extra movement, the XP-3 offers a wide variety of color combinations and gobo patterns to add to its visual excitement. Featuring 17 gobos plus spot, 6 colors plus white and 4 multi-colors, and strobing in every color, the XP-3 casts brilliant patterns that appear to be hovering over patrons heads like something from outer space.
The XP-3's high-quality stepper motors with 1.8 degree rotation give the effects extremely fast and smooth transitions. A full focusing lens is included to produce images that are very sharp and vivid.
The XP-3 can be operated with any standard DMX controller. It can also be used with American DJ's Utopia/C Controller (sold separately) to control black out, slow scan and strobe at the touch of a button.
Additionally, the XP-3 can be operated in a sound activation mode. It features a sensitivity knob to control the intensity with which effects move to the music's beat. Multiple XP-3 units can be linked together master-slave via XLR cable.
A versatile fixture that can conform to different clubs' spatial configurations, the XP-3 includes a hanging bracket for easy installation, or it can be set upright on its rubber feet. Other user-friendly features include an easy access lamp replacement door and fan cooling.
The XP-3 comes with a ZB-JCR/H5 15V, 150W 500 hr. lamp. Dimensions are 8.5" x 11.25" x 12.5", and weight is 19 lbs. The XP-3 is priced at $699.95 MSR. . .putting a new spin on value in moving head lighting effects.
