LOS ANGELES - "R-E-F-L-E-X" is defined in the Merriam-Webster dictionary as: 1) reflected light or color, or 2) a mirrored image. It's described in a song by `80s rock group Duran Duran as "treasure in the dark".
Now American DJ is proud to introduce The Reflex, a club lighting effect that personifies all the above and more. The Reflex is a dual moonflower effect that that bounces, bends, and reflects a ton of multi-colored beams off of two scanning mirrors to bring dazzling "treasure in the dark" to clubs and entertainment venues.
Not an "only child" like in the Duran Duran song, the Reflex is a twin effect -- two-moonflowers-in-one, joined together in a sleek-looking high-tech case. Multi-color patterns are projected from each side of the fixture to provide double the lighting excitement of a solo moonflower.
Resembling a large pair of binoculars, the Reflex features a rotating mirror in front of each of its two "eyes." Light beams bounce and reflect off of each of the two rotating mirrors, which is what produces the twin-like effect.
In addition to its moving mirrors, the Reflex's light beams themselves rotate back and forth to the beat of the music. The rotation of the light beams, coupled with their bouncing and reflecting off the moving mirrors, creates a frenzy of wild, pulsating movement.
