Battle-Worthy:American Audio Introduces Lightning-Quick Q-D3 "Battle Deck" Scratch Mixer
LOS ANGELES -- Dueling DJs can now take to the scratching "battlefield" with a smokin new weapon in their arsenal. Its the Q-D3 "Battle Deck," an ultra-quick professional scratch mixer from American Audio.
One of the fastest battle mixers on the market today, the Q-D3 is loaded with features to give DJs an edge in scratching showdowns. For starters, itcomes equipped with American Audios exclusive Feather Fader Plus, featuring VCA Control for smoother and faster crossfades. VCA Control is an advanced innovation in which a voltage signal, rather than mechanical sliders, is used to operate the crossfader. Also great for crabbing is the Q-D3s built-in Hamster Switch, which reverses the polarity of the crossfader. DJs can change crossfades from channel one to channel two, and vice versa, simply by flicking the Hamster Switch, rather than having to manually reverse directions, allowing for faster, easier one-handed mixing.
When its time to cut the sound, nothing gets quiet quicker than the Q-D3, thanks to its Push-Button Kill Switches for Treble, Mid & Bass. The switches cut output by 100 percent -- with greater ease and speed than conventional rotary kill switches.
Even the faceplate of the Q-D3 has been designed for ultimate quickness. The mixer has a smooth, one-piece faceplate design, with no screws or ridges that could pose obstacles and slow things down.
"There is nothing on the faceplate to get in the way of the users hand movements," explained Brown. "Everything about the Q-D3 was designed to provide the ultimate speed for battle DJs."
Equipped with 2 Phono, 2 Lines, 2 Auxiliaries and 1 Mic input, the Q-D3 also features Fader "Q" Start when used with a compatible American Audio CD player, such as the PRO-DJ2 or PRO-DJ3. The Fader "Q" Start feature allows DJs to crossfade directly to a pre-programmed cue point on a compact disc.
