The new PRO-DJ3 Single CD Player offers Sampling, Seamless Loop, Fader Cue Start andmore .. all at a price thats within the reach of the average working DJ.Modeled after American Audios award-winning DCD-PRO500 Dual CD Player, the PRO-DJ3 is designed as an alternative for DJs who preferusing a single CD player, but want the latest high-tech features. "The PRO-DJ3 is like one-half of a DCD-PRO500," explained JohnBrown, national sales manager for American Audio. "It incorporates all the PRO-500s advanced features like Sampling and Fader CueStart into a single, rather than a dual, CD player."For example, the PRO-DJ3 can store and recall as many as 40 previously-created samples (half the DCD-PRO500s 80 samples), puttingan enormous library of sound at the disc jockeys fingertips. DJs can also use this feature to store and recall loops and cuepoints.Whats more, the PRO-DJ3 is equipped with 6 Flash Start Buttons, which allow DJs to create, store and instantly recall samples of upto 2.6 seconds "on the fly" while music is playing. With this feature, the disc jockey can create a loop, then store it as a sampleto be recalled whenver he needs it. Whenever the Flash Start Button is hit, the stored sample will come on instantly. Six samplesper CD side can be stored on the Flash Start Buttons. If the CD is taken out and a new one put in, the original samples will remainin storage for instant recall. The PRO-DJ3 is designed to work with American Audios Q-Series mixers to offer Fader Cue Start. Disc jockeys using the PRO-DJ3 canprogram up to 6 different cue points on a CD. Then, when a Q-Series mixer is hooked up to the PRO-DJ3, the DJ can crossfadedirectly to a pre-programmed cue point, and the cut will start playing at the specified cue point, rather than at the beginning ofthe song.Other features offered by the PRO-DJ3 include Seamless Loop and True Instant Start. "The True Instant Start feature eliminates deadspaces, because the music starts up right away without even a fraction of a second delay," said Brown. "With the Seamless Loop, if aDJ wants to repeat a track over and over again, it will keep playing the music with no breaks."The PRO-DJ3 also includes 8x over sampling, digital output, selectable pitch control (+/-8%, +/-12% or +/-16%), and the ability toedit "on the fly." It includes a terrific Bop Effect that allows DJs to add a unique background to their performances.An interactive jog wheel on the PRO-DJ3 can be used for pitch bend or frame search, which can be operated at four different scanspeeds. Another user-friendly feature is Relay Playback (flip flop), which allows two CD players to be linked by cable, and when acompact disc is finished playing on one unit, the second CD player will automatically start playing.List price of the PRO-DJ3 is $649.95.
