LOS ANGELES-The latest weather reports are in, and the forecast calls for thick, white fog to roll into all nightclubs and party venues that are hip to two new products from American DJ. The company's just-released Fog Storm 1200HD and Fog Storm 1700HD professional fog machines are predicted to send DJs, bands and revelers everywhere dancing on Cloud Nine.
The new Fog Storm 1200HD and Fog Storm 1700HD (the "HD" stands for "Heavy Duty") feature major enhancements to American DJ's already-popular Fog Storm 1200 and 1700 model fog machines. Both units now include an all-new Advanced Cut-Off SystemT and are capable of being operated via a standard DMX-512 lighting controller.
The Advanced Cut-Off SystemT on these exciting, heavy-duty foggers will automatically shut off the pumping system when the fog fluid tank reaches a minimum level, as indicated by an easy-to-see LED light. This new feature not only warns the user when it's time to refill but also helps maintain the life of the Fog Storm 1200HD and Fog Storm 1700HD by preventing clogging and damage to the units.
American DJ's FS-DMX-T remote control/timer-which comes standard on the Fog Storm 1700HD and is available as a separate option on the Fog Storm 1200HD-can be used to connect either unit directly to a DMX-512 lighting controller using a standard XLR cable. Simply plug one end of an XLR cable (included with the model 1700HD) into the remote and the other end into a DMX controller; then, you can position the unit either on a dance floor or stage and operate it from the DJ booth or backstage area.

The 1,200-watt Fog Storm 1200HD produces an output of 7,000 cubic feet of fog per minute, while the 1,700-watt Fog Storm 1700HD cranks out an amazing 15,000 cubic feet of fog per minute, enough to blanket even the largest venue in practically no time.
Both of these surprisingly compact units benefit from American DJ-exclusive Electronic Thermo SensingT (ETS) temperature control technology, which utilizes an electronic thermostat instead of a manual one. The ETS system makes the Fog Storm 1200HD and Fog Storm 1700HD much more sensitive in detecting slight temperature drops, which triggers the heater to switch back on faster than it does on manual-thermostat fog machines. This enables the Fog Storms to maintain a consistent operating temperature, resulting in cleaner, whiter, continuous fog output with no waiting time between blasts. This opaque, evenly dispersed fog is a great effect in and of itself, plus it greatly enhances other lighting effects like colored moonflowers.
Other important features shared by the Fog Storm 1200HD and Fog Storm 1700HD include an advanced heating system with a large copper tube that helps prevent clogging from fog fluid residue, an external fog control switch and an initial warm-up time of just 8 minutes.
