Brighter And Lighter With All-New Gobos! Intelligent DJ Scan 250 From American DJ Takes Popular Scanner To Next Level
LOS ANGELES - American DJ is building on the success of its popular intelligent scanner, the DJ Scan, with the unveiling of the next-generation DJ Scan 250. Like its predecessor, the DJ Scan 250 is an affordable, easy-to-use 4-channel DMX scanner, loaded with on-board colors and gobos, that puts an intelligent light show within reach of virtually any mobile or club disc jockey.
But the DJ Scan 250 also goes steps beyond its "ancestor" with improved features that produce an even more stunning, creative light show, and offer enhanced user convenience. First, as its name suggests, the DJ Scan 250 has a brighter 250-watt lamp, which makes its 7 dichroic colors much more brilliant and intense.
Along with its added brightness, DJ Scan 250 features 10 all-new gobo patterns created by the company's graphic designers. Unique to American DJ, the new gobos will capture attention in clubs and on dance floors because of their distinctive shapes and patterns. Some of the gobos have an edgy, high-tech appearance, while others evoke softer, mystical images.
"The gobos on the DJ Scan 250 are our own exclusive proprietary patterns, which no other manufacturer has," said Scott Davies, General Manager of the American DJ Group of Companies. "Their design goes beyond the usual geometrics and other common `gobo shapes' that are typically found on lighting effects.
"It's all part of American DJ's commitment to continually offer lighting users fresh, new, original products," added Davies. "These eye-catching gobos will help clubs and DJs create a more cutting-edge atmosphere, so they'll stand out from the pack."
Another new, improved feature on the DJ Scan 250 is an electronic transformer, which makes the fixture itself very light in weight. This enhances the portability of the DJ Scan 250, making it ideal for mobile applications. The compact scanner weighs just 12 lbs. and measures 17.75"L x 7"W x 4.5"H.
The 4-channel DJ Scan 250 can be operated with any standard DMX-512 protocol controller, or it can be run via its own built-in programs. It can also be linked in multiples with XLR cables and run master-slave to put on a coordinated light show.
Another club lighting trend that the DJ Scan 250 addresses is wireless operation. The scanner can be used with American DJ's optional Wireless C controller (sold separately) to control blackout via an infrared remote key chain.
The DJ Scan 250 includes 7 dichroic colors plus white, and 10 gobo patterns plus spot. It is equipped with separate color and gobo wheels, and features X/Y mirror movement. The scanner includes a full focusing lens and a ZB-ELC 24-volt, 250-watt lamp.
Like its predecessor model, the DJ Scan 250 is priced to offer DJs unbeatable affordability in an intelligent scanner. The suggested retail price of the DJ Scan 250 is just $279.95.
