LOS ANGELES --- American DJ Supply has signed nationally-known disc jockey/Priority Records artist Tony B!, as an endorser for its American Audio product line. Under the agreement, Tony B! will appear in American Audio ads endorsing the companys CD players, mixers and other professional DJ audio gear.
American Audio products were also featured in a contest co-sponsored by Priority Records and The Wherehouse retail record chain to promote Tony B!s recently-released first full-length CD, entitled "From The Mind Of A DJ." Customers who visited 25 Los Angeles-area The Wherehouse stores were invited to enter a raffle drawing to win DJ gear from American Audio.
First prize was an American Audio DJ Mix & Scratch Pak turntable package, plus a one-hour DJ lesson from Tony B! Second prize was an American Audio Q-2422 mixer, and third prize was a set of DJH-Superbass headphones. The American Audio products were displayed at The Wherehouse, and were mentioned on popular L.A. radio station Power 106, another sponsor of the Tony B! contest promotion.
A well-known figure in the national dance scene for more than a decade, Tony B! has more than 75 productions and re-mixes to his credit, in addition to his new CD. Starting out as a radio personality in the 1980s, he built a name for himself hosting cutting-edge mix shows on Los Angeless Power 106, Groove Radio and KIIS-FM stations, which jumped to the top of the ratings in their time slot.
"Tony B! is regarded as a pioneer in L.A.s house music sound," said John Brown, national sales manager for American Audio. "His original mixes and personality have won him a following throughout the United States and Europe. We are honored to have a DJ/artist of Tonys talent and influence endorsing our products."
An enthusiastic user of American Audio products, Tony B! credits the companys PRO-DJ2 CD player with "converting" him from a vinyl record diehard to someone who now regularly uses compact discs in his shows. The PRO-DJ2 is an affordable professional single CD player that features seamless loop and fader cue start.
"The PRO-DJ2 is so incredible, it made this longtime vinyl junky want to play CDs," exclaimed Tony B! "I always fought it, thinking, Hey Im a real DJ, I dont want to play CDs. But this gear is really brilliant."
Coming from someone with the reputation of Tony B!, such praise carries a lot of weight, pointed out Brown. "When a leading-edge artist like Tony speaks so highly of our gear, it has a lot of impact with DJs everywhere. Our association with Tony will raise the profile of American Audio products even further, and introduce more working DJs throughout the world to the professional quality and great value of our line," Brown said.
With the release of his Priority Records CD, Tony B! is in a position to generate even greater publicity for American Audio. In addition to The Wherehouse contest, the CD is being promoted with a print advertising campaign in national disc jockey and dance music magazines, as well as on radio stations nationally, via extensive TV coverage in southern California, and over the internet.
"Tony B! is a rising star," said Brown. "Hes only going to become more well-known in the future, which makes him a perfect spokesperson for an up-and-coming product line like American Audio."
Introduced just two years ago, the American Audio line has expanded rapidly due to popular demand. It now features a complete lineup of professional DJ audio products, including CD players, mixers, turntables, amplifiers, equalizers, mics (wireless and wired) and accessories.
