DECO-rating The Dance Floor: American DJ's Deco 250 Shoots Light ThroughTextured Glass For Unique Club Effect
LOS ANGELES - Now any DJ or club can elevate their light show to a dazzling work of art with the Deco 250 from American DJ. A truly different kind of club effect, the Deco 250 creates vibrant, textured patterns that look like swirling circles of multi-colored beveled glass.
The secret behind the Deco 250's unique, Art Deco-like patterns are its 11 custom-designed gobos, which are made of actual three-dimensional cut glass. The Deco 250 produces seamless, scrolling colors, which are illuminated through the glass gobos to project free-form 3D-style patterns on walls, ceilings and floors.
Equipped with a high-powered 250-watt lamp, the Deco 250's colors are extremely vivid and brilliant, adding to its eye-popping aura. A total of 11 colors are included on the effect.
With its unique kaleidoscopic 3-D patterns, the Deco 250 will create a memorable light show that will make any DJ or club stand out from the pack, said Scott Davies, General Manager of the American DJ Group of Companies. "The Deco 250 makes it easy to put on a really amazing and different light show," said Davies.
"Most club patrons have never seen anything like the Deco 250's ultra-bright textured glass patterns. They're very architectural. They're cutting-edge and retro at the same time. This one-of-a-kind effect is great for clubs and DJs who want to create a visual statement that will definitely be remembered."
Another feature that DJs and clubs will appreciate is that the Deco 250 does not have to be operated on an on/off "duty cycle," as many lighting effects do. Equipped with an extremely high velocity fan, the fixture can be run in continuous operation all night long without overheating, so there's no interruption to the visual excitement.
A DMX-compatible fixture, the Deco 250 includes 2 DMX channels. In addition to being operated with any standard DMX controller, it can be run as a stand-alone sound-active effect, moving to its own built-in programs. An Audio Sensitivity Knob allows users to control the intensity to which the unit responds to the music's beat. The Deco 250 can also be linked master-slave with other units for a coordinated multi-fixture light show. An optional Mini/C controller (sold separately) is available for controlling black out.
Along with its unique patterns, another thing that stands out about the Deco 250 is its sleek, futuristic case. Made of aluminum with a large black front area, the fixture features a distinctive-looking projector that resembles a high-tech telescopic device surrounded by a riveted circular encasing. Compactly designed, the Deco 250 is great for both mobile DJs and clubs. It measures 10.3" x 9.5" x 5" and weighs 13 lbs.
The Deco 250 comes with circuit breaker protection, so there's no need to change fuses. It includes a super-bright LL-ELC, 24-volt, 250-watt lamp. The suggested retail price of the Deco 250 is $349.95.
