Huge output, lime-infused and UV-enhanced color mixing, a robust IP65-rated casing, wireless connectivity, and versatile rigging options make ADJ’s new 40 HEX Panel IP a truly flexible fixture. Capable of wash, blinder, color strobe or eye candy functionality, it is ideal for busy rental houses or event production companies looking for the perfect mix of functionality, reliability and ROI.
The 40 HEX Panel IP features a 10 by 4 matrix of high-performance 20-watt HEX LEDs. Each LED combines red, green, blue, amber, lime and UV elements with independent dimming control to generate a vast collection of output colors. The inclusion of UV allows the creation of black light effects as well as vibrant pinks and purples, while the lime chip ensures excellent clarity when the fixture is used to illuminate performers or décor. When all of the LEDs are used together, the fixture offers an impressive output of up to 19,590 lumens. Zone control is also available, which can be configured to provide two, five or ten groups, allowing flexibility to accommodate different project requirements and available control channels. Adding to the fixture’s versatility, the 40 HEX Panel IP offers linear white temperature control from 2700K to 10,000K.
Housed in a rugged, all-metal, IP65-rated body, this fixture is ready to withstand even the harshest live-event conditions, including dust, sand, wind, humidity and rain. It features a heavy-duty hanging bracket, which locks securely into place at any desired angle using large thumb tightening screws, and is fitted with Omega bracket receivers. In addition, a second set of Omega bracket receivers is located on the rear panel of the fixture, allowing direct mounting to a truss or lighting bar without the use of the yoke. The unit is the same width as ADJ’s popular Jolt Panel FXIP, and shares the same casing and mounting bracket design, making it an ideal companion on floor package carts. It also shares the same filter slot design, which allows a rigid filter to easily slide in front of the LEDs and lock into place via an integrated clip. This means that the supplied diffusion filter can be used as well as a selection of optional extras including linear effect and black filter options.
An OLED display on the rear of the fixture provides access to a menu-driven interface for mode selection and DMX addressing. IP65-rated 5-pin DMX input and output sockets are provided but the device also features an integrated Aria X2 wireless transceiver. This allows it to receive a DMX signal cable free from other Aria X2 enabled fixtures and also facilitates wireless fixture management. DMX addressing, mode selection and other configuration options are all available remotely using the Aria X2 BLE app – connected via Bluetooth – which also offers OTA (Over The Air) firmware updates.
