ADJ Turns Heads At InfoComm 2023

The ADJ team used the recent InfoComm trade show in Orlando, FL to demonstrate a variety of brand new and recently released products, including moving head luminaires, theatrical lighting fixtures, and LED video panels. As the largest professional audiovisual trade show in North America, InfoComm is attended by thousands of integrators and other AV professionals from across the country and around the world. Throughout the three day event crowds of visitors flocked to the ADJ booth, which provided a hands-on opportunity for exploring the company’s latest AV technology.

The brand-new Encore LP12Z IP made its official debut at the show. This tough and versatile weatherproof IP65-rated zooming LED par fixture is equipped with 12 x 20-Watt 4-in-1 RGBL color mixing LEDs, offering a massive selection of colors to choose from, including 64 built-in color macros and tunable white control (2700K to 6500K). The inclusion of a lime chip, alongside the primary red, green, and blue colors, allows for an increased color palette as well as a higher CRI (84.4), ensuring natural skin tones and enhanced depth. The fixture also features motorized zoom, providing the ability to remotely control the lighting coverage, for a variable field angle of between 9 and 50-degrees.

Another new product to be officially unveiled at the show was the EVS3 LED video panel. Offering incredible value for money, paired with the robust build quality and impressive visual clarity which are synonymous with all ADJ video panels, it is ideal for production and event companies looking for a reliable and affordable entry into the LED video wall market. Its compact size of 19.68” x 19.68” x 2.96” and lightweight construction, weighing just 16.5 lbs, make it easy to handle, while retractable corner guards provide extra protection during transportation. Featuring a 3.91mm (0.15”) pixel pitch and brightness rating of 800 NITs, it delivers crisp and vibrant images from a durable and easily portable panel.

Also taking pride of place on ADJ’s InfoComm booth was the new Focus Spot 7Z. As the latest addition to ADJ’s popular Focus Series of LED-driven moving heads, this recently released fixture is a powerful and feature-packed luminaire that offers lighting designers huge creative potential. At its heart is an efficient 420W white light LED engine, which has its light focused through precision-engineered optics to generate a potent and even output of 20,000 Lumens. The fixture features a comprehensive suite of beam-shaping tools, which make it extremely versatile. These include motorized focus, iris and zoom (6° ~ 48°) as well as smooth electronic dimming and variable speed strobing (1-20Hz). CMY mixing allows selection of a vast gamut of colors, while a variable CTO flag offers white light output with color temperature variable between 2,700K and 8,000K. There is also a separate color wheel with 7 dichroic slots (including High CRI and CTB) alongside two independent wheels, each with 7 slots for interchangeable and indexed rotating GOBOs. The fixture also boasts an indexed rotating animation wheel, two rotating prisms (4-facet circular and 6-facet linear) and two frost filters (light and heavy).

A bigger sibling to ADJ’s popular Focus Flex L7, the new Focus Flex L19 moving head attracted lots of attention at the show. This potent LED wash-zoom offers an output of 7,814 Lumens and is capable of creating wash, beam and pixel effects. It features a wide zoom range of 5° ~ 50° and is powered by an array of nineteen potent 40-Watt 4-in-1 RGBL color mixing LEDs, each of which can be controlled independently. Through mixing the intensity of the four LED elements, a huge gamut of output colors can be created to suit any mood or desired look. The fixture features a convenient Virtual CMY mode, which allows control alongside native CMY color mixing fixtures using hardware/software CMY color picker tools. It also offers Virtual Foreground and Background Color Wheel control as well as white light output with variable color temperature of between 2700K and 10,000K. This can be accessed either via linear control or a collection of 10 convenient presets. Meanwhile, through controlling the 19 LEDs independently, the fixture can be used to generate impressive pixel-mapped effects and features a selection of in-built pixel animations to facilitate quick and effective programming.

Another popular model from the Focus Series showcased at the event was the Focus Profile. This feature-packed automated profile luminaire is powered by a potent 400W LED light engine that generates an impressive output of 20,000 Lumens. It is designed for theatrical, concert touring and event production applications and offers a versatile array of creative features. These include four rotating framing shutters with shape rotation, an animation wheel, motorized zoom (beam angle 7 ~ 45-degrees), motorized iris, motorized focus, CMY color mixing and variable CTO color temperature control, an additional color wheel loaded with six dichroic filters, two separate GOBO wheels (one with interchangeable indexed-rotating GOBOs and the other with static metal-stamped GOBOs), a replaceable (medium) frost filter and two independent indexed rotating prisms: 3-facet circular and 6-facet linear.

Ideal for a wide range of applications – including coffee shops, museums, restaurants and art galleries – that require a compact professional spotlight, InfoComm 2023 visitors had the opportunity to view for themselves ADJ’s impressive new Encore Profile Mini WW and Encore Profile Mini Color. These extremely compact, yet surprisingly powerful, LED-driven ellipsoidal fixtures can be used with a choice of either a 15° - 30° or 25° - 50° manual zoom lens (sold separately). Both models are supplied with a size ‘E’ GOBO holder and offer smooth digital dimming as well as variable speed digital strobing. The WW version features a 40-watt LED source with a color temperature of 3000K and an extremely high CRI of >98. Meanwhile, the COLOR version utilizes an LED engine comprised of 16 x 3.5W RGBWAL (red / green / blue / white / amber / lime) LEDs, which allows extremely versatile color mixing with a CRI of >86.

Finally, InfoComm 2023 saw the official debut of a collection of uniquely shaped professional power distribution boxes called Accu-Cable Power Bones. These new additions to ADJ’s Accu-Cable range each feature a tough metal construction and convenient design featuring locking Seetronic IP65-rated power input and thru connectors on either end and two outputs on either side. Three versions are available: the POWER BONE T1ED, which features four Edison output sockets; the POWER BONE T1PC, which offers four Seetronic indoor-rated locking output sockets; and the POWER BONE T1T1, which is equipped with four Seetronic IP65-rated locking output sockets. All three models also feature a pair of 5V USB power outlets as well as power indicator LEDs. In addition, the units are all supplied with a quick release locking omega bracket for secure truss mounting.

“InfoComm is always a great show for ADJ,” comments ADJ USA’s Director of Sales, Alfred Gonzales, “however, 2023 was a real standout year. Our booth was busy throughout the whole three days, with a steady stream of visitors interested in the products we had on display. As always, it was great to connect in person with many of our existing customers – both from the integration and production worlds – and we also enjoyed meeting lots of new potential customers interested in ADJ products for a wide variety of applications and projects.”
