However, traditional blinder fixtures featuring halogen lamps require a large amount of power, produce a lot of heat and are prone to expensive lamp failures. Following recent developments in LED technology, a number of blinder fixtures have been released in recent years that address these issues, but they don’t offer the authentic look of filament lamps. Extending ADJ’s Encore Series of professional stage lighting fixtures, the Encore Burst 200 is ideal for use in both fixed installations and touring productions where you require an impactful blinder effect. Used alone it is suitable for medium-sized venues, while multiple fixtures joined together are perfect for larger venues as well as outdoor concerts and festivals.
It features two extremely powerful 110W warm white C.O.B (Chip On Board) CREE LEDs which have a color temperature of 2700K and average lamp life of 50,000 hours. Using the new ‘dim to warm’ feature an additional low intensity LED element is also built-in which has a color temperature of 1200K. This engages as the dimmer fades up from 0, or down towards 0, to create the warm glow characterized by halogen lamps when they turn on or off.
The fixture has a wide 50-degree beam angle, which is ideal for bathing a large area with evenly-distributed warm white light, and offers 1.2 Hz flicker free operation. Each of the unit’s two lens assemblies also offer manual tilt adjustment of each individual lens, allowing for an even wider coverage area. A detachable hanging bracket / carry handle is also included, with locking pins to hold it in place. With dimensions of 15.75” x 8.5” x 9” / 400 x 215.5 x 200.5mm (L x W x H) and a weight of 15 lbs. / 6.8 kg., the fixture is compact to transport and store as well as lightweight to lift and carry.
Designed for a life on the road, the Encore Burst 200 has a rugged metal housing with a matt black paint finish. It also features aluminum extrusion rails at the top and bottom, which can be used to slide together multiple fixtures to create larger blinder arrangements. Locking pins then simply slide in place to secure the units together into a single fixture. It is possible to join fixtures both horizontally and vertically, allowing for a wide variety of blinder configurations to be constructed. The unit’s hanging bracket can also be removed and re-attached, spanning across two units, so that a four lens blinder can hang from a single bracket.
Compatible with an input voltage of 100-240V 50Hz / 60Hz (autosensing), the unit is suitable for use worldwide, making it ideal if you are specifying an international tour or provide production services in multiple countries. Professional locking True1 powerCON input and output sockets are provided to allow the power supply for multiple units to be daisy-chained together (up to four fixtures at 120V or eight fixtures at 230V). The unit is also fitted with 5-pin XLR input and output sockets for DMX control, with a choice of four different modes (1, 2, 4 and 6-channel) available.
Adding to the flexibility of this innovative fixture, the casing has a weather-proof IP-rating. Not only is the enclosure designed to be protected from water and dust, the input and output sockets are provided with rubber caps which can be fitted when not in use to provide protection for the electrical contacts. This means that the fixture can be used safely for outdoor events, even in wet and windy conditions.
The fixture is fitted with a 4-digit LED display and four corresponding push buttons that allow mode selection and DMX addressing. It offers a choice of five different dimming curves as well as independent 0 – 100% dimming for each lamp and variable speed strobing effects.
The Encore Burst 200 is IPX4 outdoor rated. It has NOT been tested to protect against the ingress of dust (X) and has been tested to protect from splash of water in any direction (4).
