Accu Color 250 Team Up as the Ultimate Light Show Trio

LOS ANGELES-A brand-new threesome of 250-watt intelligent DMX fixtures from American DJ brings together everything you need to put on a vibrant, professional-quality light show-without having to pay sky-high prices or struggle with bulky, complicated equipment.

Remarkably easy to use, the new Accu Scan 250 and Accu Roller 250 scanners and Accu Color 250 color changer work together as if they were made for each other ... and indeed they were. The Accu Scan 250 and Accu Roller 250 scanners are almost identical, the only difference being the Accu Roller 250s unique barrel mirror feature, which creates multiple beams that twist and turn and span over a wide area. The Accu Color 250 color changer rounds out the trio by providing a mellow, moody contrast to the perpetually spinning scanners.

Professional-type fixtures designed for nightclubs, productions and serious entertainers, the Accu Scan 250, Accu Roller 250 and Accu Color 250 all feature ultra-bright, powerful 250-watt discharge lamps. High-output dichroic reflectors add to their brilliance by producing a 20 percent higher lumen output than traditional aluminum ones. The fixtures are equipped with a super-crisp, high quality optical system with a 19-degree beam angle to cover large areas with a low ceiling.

The 8-channel Accu Scan 250 and Accu Roller 250 each employ seven rotating gobos plus spot, and feature a gobo shake effect. The 3-channel Accu Color 250 comes with one replaceable static gobo and two beam reducers. Each of the three fixtures is equipped with nine eye-popping dichroic colors plus white and includes a colorful rainbow scroll effect. Custom gobos can be made to give colors to logos and marketing "catch phrases."American DJ also offers a separate 30-degree beam lens.

"The Accu Scan 250, Accu Roller 250 and Accu Color 250 complement each other perfectly, representing American DJs top-shelf of intelligent lighting," said Scott Davies, General Manager of the American DJ Group of Companies. "In keeping with the American DJ philosophy of listening to our end-users, we developed these products from the recommendations of lighting designers, installers and retailers alike. We have successfully given our customers what they are asking for: higher power, compact size, crisp optics and affordability."

In addition to being run with any Elation brand controller, such as the popular Show Designer, or other standard DMX-512 controllers, the Accu Scan 250, Accu Roller 250 and Accu Color 250 are capable of operating in stand-alone mode via built-in sound-activated programs. In addition, the Accu Color 250, the Accu Scan 250 and Accu Roller 250 feature 48 programmable internal steps each. The fixtures can be linked master-slave in multiples to put on a coordinated light show.

The stand-alone function makes the Accu Scan 250, Accu Roller 250 and Accu Color 250 extremely easy to use, even for those inexperienced with DMX lighting. American DJ also plans on offering these fixtures in systems of four with easy-to-use, push-of-a-button controllers containing pre-programmed light shows. This easy-operation feature gives the fixtures the versatility for a wide range of applications, including retail displays and rentals, where users prefer the set-it-and-forget-it approach to lighting.

Very affordably priced, the three units are a great value considering their high-tech construction and the impressive package of high-end features they offer. For example, all come equipped with a high-velocity fan that keeps things running cool all night for continuous operation with no duty cycle. Additionally, all feature smooth, accurate stepper motors with 1.8-degree micro-stepping.

Other common features of the Accu Scan 250, Accu Roller 250 and Accu Color 250 include: manual full focusing, a shutter with 100 percent dimming, multi-voltage selection (98V, 120V, 208V, 230V, 50Hz and 60Hz), and a digital display with an easy-to-read menu of options such as reverse tilt and reverse pan. Each fixture comes with a super-bright ZB-MSD250/2 2000-hour 250-watt discharge lamp. All three fixtures have compatible gobo/color schemes with the already popular American DJ, Accu Spot 250, 250W discharge moving head.

"No one else but American DJ could come up with a three-piece lighting setup that offers so many professional features at such an amazing price," Davies said.
