One of the keys to ADJ’s success over the company’s 35+ year history has always been its people. This diverse group – spread across the world and with a wide variety of skills and experience – are all passionate about designing, manufacturing, selling, and supporting the best mid-market entertainment lighting, LED video, and effects equipment possible. Each instalment in this series of short interviews shines a spotlight on one individual from the team, giving an insight into who they are, what they do, and how they care for ADJ customers on a daily basis. This time it’s the turn of one the important cogs who keeps ADJ’s head office sales team running smoothly, Shenor Sakadjian.
How long have you been a part of the ADJ team?
Officially four and a half years. However, prior to coming on board full-time, I had freelanced with the company at various trade shows during the three previous years, helping with lead retrieval.

What is your job function that allows you to show you care for our customers?
Constant communication is an essential part of my job, whether I’m calling to keep our customers updated on the latest fixtures we offer and the various applications they can be used for, or just simply following up on an order. At times I reach out simply to see how they are doing! Building a rapport with each person I work with is key. Business is business, but there is more to the people I speak to than work.
What do you like most about your job?
The best part of my job is bringing my clients’ vision to life. But I also love that no two days are the same! This is an industry that constantly changes, which means you are always learning from it.
What hobbies / interests do you have outside work?
I enjoy traveling, exploring new destinations, culture and food! I truly love to bake and cook, which I learned from watching my mom. Simply put, it’s the ability to create a meal that brings happiness to your soul with each bite. I also love being outdoors, from hiking to enjoying the tranquillity of the ocean. I enjoy planning events, and especially bringing the joy of Christmas to life. Finally, I love my dog; spending time with her, whether it’s at the beach or in the snow, is always an adventure!
What is something you’ve done or accomplished that people might not know about you?
Well, I was a competitive amateur figure skater and martial artist for many years. But the most exhilarating thing I’ve done, and plan to do more of, is skydiving!
