A Team That Cares – Meet Charlotte Wester

One of the keys to ADJ’s success over the company’s 35+ year history has always been its people. This diverse group – spread across the world and with a wide variety of skills and experience – are all passionate about designing, manufacturing, selling, and supporting the best mid-market entertainment lighting, LED video, and effects equipment possible. In each installment of this series of short interviews we shine a spotlight on one individual from the team, giving an insight into who they are, what they do, and how they care for ADJ customers on a daily basis. This time we meet Charlotte Wester who looks after ADJ’s tradeshow booths and also provides technical sales support to customers across the USA.

How long have you been a part of the ADJ team?

I have been with the company just over 4 years.

What is your job title?

Tradeshow Manager & ADJ Technical Sales Support.

What is your job function that allows you to show you care for our customers?

For one half of my job, I help create the right environment to allow our sales staff to connect with customers at trade shows. The rest of the time I spend on the road, supporting our sales team.

What do you like most about your job?

As the Tradeshow Manager, I love being able to put the booths together and design/plan them out. It’s one big puzzle and I enjoy working it out. Being out on the road helping the sales team, I really just enjoy talking shop, hearing about customers’ projects, and helping them choose the right products to achieve their goals.

What hobbies / interests do you have outside work?

I have skied since I was five years old and go on ski trips most years, so getting the opportunity to ski in the Swiss Alps was an amazing experience for me. Back at home, living in Austin gives me a lot of opportunities to go see live music and concerts. When I am not traveling for work, to ski, or see friends, I love sitting at home and cuddling with my pets.

What is something you’ve done or accomplished that people might not know about you?

I have two degrees! I went to a theatre conservatory for college and earned a BFA in Lighting Design, which I draw on heavily in my work at ADJ. My Senior Design was for a production of As You Like It (pictured below). I also have a BA in French and as part of that spent four months living in Geneva, Switzerland. I studied on the Webster Geneva campus during the week and on the weekend spent my time traveling to different countries in Europe. That was when I skied in the Swiss Alps, and I also went up to Munich for Springfest. I am an art and architecture nerd, so spent a ton of time visiting museums, churches, and pretty much anywhere else I could get into. I loved spending time in Europe. It’s now somewhere I try to go as often as possible. The picture of the church (above) is one I took when I visited Strasbourg, France last year when I took a trip to Frankfurt in Germany.
