This year the LDI lighting industry tradeshow celebrated its 30th anniversary and to mark the occasion ADJ used the event to officially unveil 12 new additions to its diverse product range of lighting, effects and control equipment. Covering a wide variety of different fixture types, all of the new units share ADJ’s world-renowned reliable build quality and excellent value for money.
LDI 2018 saw the official unveiling of ADJ’s exciting new range of IP65-rated moving head fixtures, the Hydro Series, which will bring weatherproof movers within the reach of a huge number of production companies and installers working on projects with budgets that up until now would not have allowed for the use of such fixtures. The compact yet potent Hydro Beam X1 is powered by an Osram Sirius HRI 100W discharge lamp combined with precision optics and a tight 3-degree beam angle, allowing the fixture to generate an extremely powerful beam that travels over a long distance and is capable of creating a wide variety of stunning midair effects. The larger Hydro Beam X2 harnesses the power of an extremely bright Osram Sirius 370W discharge lamp. It generates an enormously powerful 3-degree beam of light and offers a raft of professional-caliber features including linear motorized focus, an in-built frost filter and an integrated USB port for software updates.
The new PAR Z Move is the latest addition to ADJ’s popular PAR Z series of traditional par can style fixtures powered by modern COB LED light sources. This new model takes the range to a new level by adding a moving head base to a 200W warm white COB par. Offering a color temperature of 3000K and a color/diffusion filter slot next to the lens, the fixture features motorized zoom (for a variable beam angle of between 9 and 43-degrees), a built-in USB upgrade port, locking powerCON input and output sockets as well as both 3-pin and 5-pin DMX connections.
Offering a huge amount of flexibility, the new 32 HEX Panel IP is a weatherproof multi-function fixture that can be used as a wash, blinder or strobe. Powered by 32 12W HEX LEDs, arranged across eight individually-controllable sections, the fixture has a 24-degree beam angle and generates an extremely potent light output. With all-metal construction and an IP65 weatherproof rating, the fixture is ideal for use both indoors and outdoors in even the most demanding of environments. In addition, a second version of the product – the 32 HEX Panel IP Pearl – is also available, which features a striking all-white casing design.
Expanding ADJ’s Entour range of atmospheric effect generators, the new Entour Ice is a touring-grade low-lying fog generator that creates thick clouds of smoke that cling to the floor. Built inside a wheeled-flightcase, the unit is extremely easy to setup. It’s case simply lifts off (leaving the wheels in place for maneuverability) and then its lid hinges up to allow access to the water tank and dry ice basket, once these are filled the machine is ready for heating. When the water is up to temperature, a motorized mechanism can then be used to lower the dry ice into the water to trigger the effect on cue (which is more flexible and professional than other manual solutions currently on the market).
The new Vizi Wash Z19 is a 380W professional moving head wash fixture powered by nineteen 20W 4-in-1 RGBW LEDs arranged in five independently-controllable zones. Offering motorized zoom (for a beam angle of between 10 and 60-degrees), the versatile fixture can be used both to illuminate large areas and to create tight mid-air beam effects. Both powerCON input and output sockets are provided to allow the power supply for multiple fixtures to be daisy-chained from a single socket, while both 3-pin and 5-pin DMX sockets are provided for easy integration of the fixture into any existing lighting system.
Following the success of the Encore Burst 200 dual lens audience blinder/strobe fixture, ADJ is expanding its Encore Series of professional stage lighting products even further with the addition of a single lens blinder/strobe fixture. The Encore Burst 100 IP utilizes the power of a 125W warm white (2700K) CREE C.O.B. LED combined with a 50-degree beam angle to generate high intensity effects. With a robust IP65-rated weatherproof case the fixture can be used both inside and outdoors, while its dim-to-warm feature allows it to emulate the dimming profile of a halogen lamp but with all of the power-saving, heat-reducing and lamp-life-extending benefits of LED.
ADJ’s Focus Series of LED-powered moving heads have proved extremely popular for a wide variety of uses thanks to their winning combination of compact size, affordable cost and professional-caliber features. Taking it’s place as the range’s new flagship product, the Focus Spot 4Z is an extremely potent fixture that harnesses the power of a 200W LED engine and offers a truly extensive feature set. In addition to motorized focus, which is the signature feature of the series, the new fixture also boasts motorized zoom (allowing for a variable beam angle of between 11 and 22-degrees), rotating replaceable GOBOs and two rotating prisms (5-facet linear and 6-facet circular).
Set to revolutionize lighting control for mobile entertainers and small venues, myDMX GO is an extremely powerful and incredibly easy to use system that combines a uniquely intuitive app-based control surface with a compact interface that connects wirelessly to an iPad or Android tablet and provides a standard 3-pin XLR output for connection to a lighting rig. The app requires absolutely no programming but can be used to create stunning synchronized shows across any combination of lighting fixtures. In a matter of seconds, incredible lighting displays can be easily created that would require hours of programming using traditional control systems. With an extensive fixture library of 15,000+ profiles, the system can be used to control all types of DMX lighting from any manufacturer.
The ADJ Saber Spot Series of compact LED-powered pinspot fixtures have proved popular for a wide range of applications, both permanently installed and touring/temporary. The new Saber Spot Go expands the range further by adding a powerful rechargeable battery to a Saber Spot fixture. Offering smooth color mixing from a 15W 4-in-1 RGBW LED, the new fixture integrates an ACL lens to produce a razor sharp 4-degree beam of light. Ideal for use where electrical outlets are limited or running cables is not possible, the fixture offers variable brightness settings to allow a battery life of 2, 4, 6 or 8 hours.
Building on the success of ADJ’s hugely popular Vizi Hybrid 16RX, the new Vizi CMY 16RX is a true hybrid moving head that functions interchangeably as a spot, beam or wash fixture. It features full CMY color mixing, allowing Lighting Designers the creative freedom to select the exact hue they require to achieve any desired look or effect. Powered by the revolutionary Philips Platinum 16R MSD light-source, a 330W unit with an output comparable to a 575W standard discharge lamp, the Vizi CMY 16RX offers a flat, even spot field and incredible color saturation. Loaded with features – including two separate GOBO wheels, motorized zoom and focus, two rotating prisms (6-facet linear and 8-facet circular) and a frost filter – this cutting-edge fixture is an ideal workhorse for touring productions, venue installations and full-service production companies.
