Music has an innate ability to unite people of different ages and from different cultural backgrounds, which is why a concert – known as Het Kruikenconcert – is central to the festivities of the annual Kruikenstad carnival.
This month I want to talk about the Startec Series. The Startec brand has actually been around for over 20 years, but just recently we’ve really started to expand its product range. That’s why I thought now would be a perfect time to use my regular Ask Alfred NewsWave article to explain the vision behind Startec and how it fits in with the rest of the ADJ line-up of lighting equipment.
Mobile Beat Las Vegas Show Recap: One of the long-standing dates on the ADJ calendar is the annual Mobile Beat trade show that takes place in Las Vegas each spring. Having moved venue a few years ago, the show’s format was also re-focused, which has led recently to a resurgence in Mobile Beat’s popularity. Over 1000 mobile DJs from across the United States – and many other countries around the world – attended the 2017 show last month, which once again took place at the iconic Tropicana hotel right in the heart of the Las Vegas action. As always, ADJ was heavily involved with the show. We hosted a large booth, right at the entrance to the expo floor, featuring equipment demonstrations, live learning sessions, gear giveaways, and the official launch of a brand new product.
This month, I want to talk about moving heads. These versatile tools come in all shapes and sizes, which means that it doesn’t matter if you’re running a small mobile DJ business or huge production company, there’s one suitable for your every lighting need. However, since there are so many different moving heads on the market – in the ADJ range alone, we have over 30 models – choosing the right one for your unique situation can be a daunting task. So, in this article, I’ll explain the main types of fixture that are available and give examples of some of the applications for each one.
Carl Grant, of Carl One Productions, often finds himself working at the winery, most recently for an elegant wedding where he used ADJ lighting to enhance the location’s natural ambiance.
A great example of someone enjoying success in the production industry is Marvin Ventura of Hawaii Events Unlimited, who recently provided the lighting rig for a large dance event featuring an international guest DJ.
Not too long ago, if you wanted to wash a stage or venue, project crisp GOBOs, and create mid-air beam effects with moving heads, you’d need to invest in separate fixtures for each purpose.
At the beginning of February the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) trade show took place in Amsterdam. This growing event is focused on professional AV and electronic systems integration, and attracts designers and installers from across Europe and beyond.
For the second consecutive year, a large quantity of ADJ lighting fixtures were used to transform the massive Maaspoort Sports and Events space in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands, for the Shockerz hard-style dance event.
Designed to host large weddings, conferences, and dinners – as well as an annual New Year’s Eve party that has developed legendary status – the Four Seasons’ main ballroom is a big ‘blank canvas’ space.
