Ask Alfred: We Are Outdoor Ready… Are You?

You many have noticed an increase recently in the number of ADJ products that offer IP-rated protection, which is essentially weather-proofing. This is a direct response to the desire of many of our customers to use their lighting equipment safely outdoors. But what exactly is an IP rating, what do the different numbers mean, and which types of fixtures are appropriate for your particular situation? In this installment of Ask Alfred, I’ll answer these questions and also introduce some of the new IP-rated equipment that has recently been added to the ADJ product range.

This impressive installation has wowed resort visitors for decades and, following a lighting overhaul that exclusively utilized 228 ADJ LED-powered fixtures, it is set to continue to do so for a long time to come.

Over the past couple of years, thanks to the efforts of local DJ, sound technician and promotor Mike Williams, it has developed a reputation as an entertainment venue and recently received a complete overhaul of its lighting rig comprised solely of ADJ LED-powered fixtures.

In Limburg, the festival is hosted in the city of Roermond and ADJ lighting was used to provide eye candy effects and illumination for one of the principle stages.

Taking place at the exhibition center attached to the Royal Armories Museum in the city of Leeds in the north of England, on Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th of May, PLASA Focus Leeds presented a showcase of the latest lighting, audio, AV, rigging, and staging technology. Attracting visitors from across northern England, as well as Scotland, Ireland, and the rest of the UK, ADJ was well-represented at the show by a booth packed with the company’s latest professional lighting and video fixtures.

Established for 15 years, sound:check Xpo is the main event in Mexico for technical professionals working in the music and show business industry. With a 12,800 m² exhibition area showcasing the latest in lighting, audio, video, DJ equipment, musical instruments, staging, and related services, ADJ has had a presence on the show floor for a number of years.
